Choose from whitewater rafting trips, kayaking clinics, canoeing instruction, biking trips and rock climbing adventures.
The whitewater rafting trips span southern New England with adventures on the Deerfield and Millers Rivers in Massachusetts, the West River in southern Vermont, and the Housatonic River in Connecticut.
Raft trips vary from great family rafting to action-packed class IV white water trips. There are high-water springtime adventures, dam-controlled runs in the summer and fall foliage trips that showcase the Berkshire hills at their most spectacular.
Paddle School:
Located on Massachusetts' Deerfield River, specializes in teaching whitewater kayaking and canoeing for beginner to advanced students using a progressive approach that tailors your lesson to you.
Instructors are ACA-certified friendly professionals and our kayaks and canoes are state-of-the-art. You can also explore the Deerfield as the master of your own sit-on-top kayak.
Rock climbing:
Provides the perfect challenge for a group, family, or individual. Zoar Outdoor base camp is only 30 minutes from some of the best climbing in southern New England and their program emphasizes challenge and safety with a low 6-to-1 guest-to-instructor ratio.
Outfitters Shop:
The shop is fully stocked with the hottest whitewater boats and accessories. On your way to the Deerfield to paddle, or just passing through, stop by and check out the latest in white water gear.
NEW! Bike Rental/ Tours:
Offering a variety of quality Cannondale bikes. Choose between a self-guided ride and our one-way downhill ride from Vermont. Nearby Mohawk Trail State Forest contains miles of mountain biking trails that vary from wide dirt roads to narrow single track.
At Zoar Outdoor itself, they maintain several miles of challenging woods roads. If road biking is more your style, you can head right out from our base to explore the local area?s back road or try our 25-mile, 3- to 4-hour downhill ride along the Deerfield River with opportunities for swimming, picnicking and sightseeing.
NEW Full adventure resort experience!
Take advantage of the comfortable accommodations of our new Hawk Mountain Lodge. Overlooking the Deerfield River Valley and Berkshire East Ski Resort, this lodge features comfortable rooms with options for shared or private baths and a spacious yard with a horseshoes pit, a volleyball court, a tetherball pole and miles of hiking and biking trails.
*Please also visit Hawk Mountain Lodge under the 'lodging' section of this mountain guide.
