World-Class Cross Country Skiing...

The Nordic Ski & Snowshoe Center at The Mountain Top Inn & Resort offers a world class cross country ski and snow shoe experience that is pure fun.

The "Mountain Top Ski Touring Center" was the first commercial cross country ski center in Vermont. Now with over a quarter century of serving the skiing public the facility has perfected their program with up to date equipment and grooming procedures.

The extensive trail system, of nearly 85 kilometers, is meticulously groomed to offer a wide variety of classical ski track and skating lanes for our guests.

Because of our unique snowmaking system, the Resort can blanket 2.5 kilometers of trails with machine made snow to ensure good skiing conditions from December through March when blue skies, sunshine and warm temperatures reward spring skiers.

Located in a renovated horse stable, the Center features the latest in ski fashions, equipment, waxes and accessories, plus ski and snowshoe rentals. The ski school is under the direction of former Olympian and Olympic cross country ski coach Don Cochrane who is available with friendly and knowledgeable instruction for all skill levels.

Recently we purchased a new PistenBully groomer to help us ensure that conditions are always perfect for our guests. (Just for fun ask Don for a ride and most likely he will happily do so.)

After you've worked up an appetite on the trails, the Nordic Center offers refreshing drinks, lunches and a place to put your feet up with friends and family.

The Resort is proud to be a member of the Cross Country Ski Areas Association and The Catamount Trail Association.
