Skyland's Ski Club


Skylands Ski Club's main function is to support the Mountain Creek Competition teams. We do this on many different levels.

SSC has and continues to purchase much of the equipment that coaches and athletes use such as video equipment, speed guns, warming capes (for use by the Racers while waiting to start), dryland training equipment, special tuning equipment tools and waxes used at away races, etc.

SSC provides input for the development of the content of the USSA Skier Athlete Development Training Program by Mt. Creek and works to ensure it is managed as effectively as possible. We represent all athletes and their families to ensure that the Program is effective and delivers value.

SSC recruits and coordinates all the Race Day volunteers that work gate keeping, hand timing and officiating.

SSC provides refreshments for Racers and Officials on Race Days at Mountain Creek.

We provide funds to pay expenses for coaches that attend out-of-state qualifying competitions and finals (post-season) competitions with our athletes.

Club members receive special rates on lodging at Club sponsored events and "away" race events.

We sponsor fun events, such as our "Family Fun Race", which was very successful last season It was great fun and a "bonding" event for both the Racers and their parents!

Vernon Base Area restaurants include the Mountain Express for a quick bite and the Hex2 Bar, featuring a large menu and your favorite brews and cocktails; plus great live music and specials.

Looking for a perfect cup of coffee, a flavored latte or a tasty treat? How about high-speed internet access while you warm up!

Stop in to the International Internet Cafe, located in Cobblestone Village across the pedestrian bridge from the Vernon Base.

South Lodge restaurants include the Harvest Market for a quick bite and Moguls Bar and Restaurant for gourmet specialties, great brews, fine wines and cocktails and a warming fireplace.
