Baldface Lodge in Nelson, British Columbia, is fast becoming the haven for powder enthusiasts from all walks of life because of its tremendous terrain, consistent snow quality, and personable staff. Guests will be flown from Nelson to the backcountry village in an A-Star helicopter a scenic, unforgettable five-minute flight. Nelson is a 3-hour drive north of Spokane, Washington in the heart of the West Kootenay region of British Columbia. In other words, Powder Country. This area averages more than 500 inches of snow each winter. Next season, Baldface will expand its skiable terrain by 66%. With a total of 36,000 acres, Baldface is the largest snowcat skiing operation in the world. Guests, who enjoy between 12,000 and 18,000 vertical feet of fresh tracks each day, will enjoy the exclusive opportunity to name first descents over cold après-powder pints in the brand new timber frame lounge. Our on-mountain village will include a bar and lounge, two hot tubs, massage therapy, and lodging for staff and guests. Guests are encouraged to arrive in town a few days early and warm up their ski legs at Whitewater Ski Resort or Red Mountain in Rossland while checking out the charming town of Nelson, full of shops and restaurants.
