Same Legendary Experience!

Arapahoe Basin is one of Summit County's sweet spots that locals cherish. This ski area is the definition of Colorado's laid back reputation with a mixture of groomed and challenging terrain and entertaining events.

Located on Highway 6, at the Continental Divide, Arapahoe Basin is easy to get to from Denver and Summit County, Colorado. For 61 years Arapahoe Basin has been serving up a fantastic ride for skiers and boarders with 367 inches of snowfall annually.

The ski area has come a long way from a tow-rope and a military transport truck to haul skiers in 1946. Arapahoe Basin now sports 105 trails and multiple chairlifts, stunning over 300,000 people per season! This year, Arapahoe Basin opened on October 10, 2007 - the earliest opening in its 61 years of operation and the 1st ski area to open in the nation.

Montezuma Bowl - NEW 2007/08!
You thought you loved A-Basin before, now you will have 80% more to rip, ride, and enjoy!

The 400-acre Montezuma Bowl, located on the backside of Arapahoe Basin, will be the nation’s largest terrain expansion for the 2007-2008 ski season. The expansion will increase the ski area’s terrain by 80 percent.

New Bowl, New Terrain!
The new terrain will include blue, black and double black slopes for a total of 36 additional runs. The skier and rider will discover cornices, chutes, glades and wide-open bowls. Several runs will be groomed nightly, providing the intermediate guest with additional cruising terrain. Feeling Adventurous? Hike-back terrain past the lower lift terminal will also be available for the adventurous skier or rider who has more interest in experiencing a remote, back country feel.

Zuma Lift ... Keeping it Real
Construction of the $3 million project had to adhered to very strict environmental standards that maintain the natural beauty and integrity of the terrain. The Zuma Lift will be 4,100 feet in length and will rise 1,100 vertical feet. The ride time will be 9 minutes and the lift will have a capacity of 1,800 skiers per hour.

NEW Lodge! Black Mountain Lodge
Opened in Spring 2007, the Black Mountain Lodge features home-style meals, soup, stews and chili. We also offer bistro style sandwiches, hearty kobe beef burgers and something for the kids too.

Spend a little time to sit down and relax with views of the ski hill and Black Mountain. Also stop by Black Mountain Sports and see the merchandise we have to offer.

A Legendary Experience
Even with a focus towards the future for Araphoe Basin, they are consistently looking backward to continue the legendary experience and tradition that makes this ski area so different from others. A new bowl, new lift, new lodge... but the same great staff, lesson programs, events, and unbeatable snow conditions will have you calling Araphoe Basin your home resort.
